Autumn in New England

Day 1: Depart for Pennsylvania
Depart today and enjoy a welcome dinner and overnight in Erie, Pennsylvania. (Dinner)

Day 2: Arrive in Lake George
Arrive up state New York 's Adirondacks region where an included dinner in an Adirondack Log Cabin awaits. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 3: Lake George Touring and Lunch Cruise
Today we visit the Chapman Historical Museum, a living history museum of the lower Adirondacks in a noted area family 's historic home. Then, we take to the water on a narrated lunch cruise on beautiful Lake George to enjoy the rich autumn colors and fabulous scenery. This afternoon, enjoy some free time in the village of Lake George. (Breakfast and lunch)

Day 4: Saratoga Springs and Quechee Gorge
A local guide shows us the historic town of Saratoga Springs. See the Historic Saratoga Springs Race Track, once a stomping ground of New York 's rich and famous, along with the homes district and Spa Park. Then we cross into the Granite State of Vermont and stop at Quechee Gorge to view the spectacular scenery of the area before arriving in Lincoln, New Hampshire. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 5: The Kancamagus Scenic Byway and North Conway Scenic Railroad
We travel the Kancamagus Scenic Byway as it follows a beautiful path through the White Mountains. It is one of the world 's most spectacular fall-foliage trips, where a stunning spectrum of color underscores the region 's natural beauty year round. The road meanders past vast forests, old logging roads, and Indian hunting paths. In North Conway, we climb aboard the North Conway Scenic Railroad for a journey through the fields and woodlands of the White Mountains. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 6: Boston and Plymouth Rock
Our travels today take us to Boston, Massachusetts where over 350 years of history await. On a panoramic sightseeing tour of Boston 's historic Freedom Trail, see the Public Garden and the Old North Church. Enjoy free time for lunch at Faneuil Hall before heading to the historic town of Plymouth, site of the “Rock,” and where our forefathers first landed on American soil. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 7: Whale Watching Excursion and Plimouth Plantation
We take to water today on a whale watching cruise sailing from Plymouth Harbor to Stellwagen Bank. This rich feeding ground is home to Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Fin and Minke Whales. Back on land we visit Plimouth Plantation. Founded in 1947, this living history museum replicates the Colony established in the 17th century. (Breakfast)

Day 8: JFK 's Cape Cod and the Vanderbilts
Crossing onto “the Cape” we come to Hyannis. Here we visit the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum which preserves and promotes the legacy of President Kennedy and his deep connection to Cape Cod. In the afternoon we come to Rhode Island and visit Vanderbilt 's Breakers Mansion. We 'll get a glimpse of how America 's most elite families lived at the turn of the century during America 's “Gilded Age.” (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 9: The Essex Steam Train and Riverboat Becky Thatcher
The Valley Railroad Company operates the coal-fired locomotives of the Essex Steam Train. Be swept away by the hiss of the steam and the blast of the whistle as you pass through some of the most beautiful country in the state. See forests and streams, beautiful vistas and nostalgic towns. At Deep River Landing, you board the Riverboat Becky Thatcher for a relaxing trip up the scenic Connecticut River. (Breakfast)

Day 10: Depart New England
Depart Connecticut and travel to Pennsylvania for a farewell dinner and overnight stay. (Breakfast and dinner)

Day 11: Arrive Home
Arrive home today with memories of Autumn in New England. (Breakfast)
