Day 2 - Day 2 – Oct 23: Cruising Lake Ontario to the St. LawrenceDelight in this day of leisurely cruising as we make our way across Lake Ontario. Entering the storied St. Lawrence Seaway, our ship will navigate through the 1,000 Islands National Park, a lovely archipelago of 1,800 forested islands, tranquil bays and remote inlets. Once patrolled by Prohibition-era bootleggers, today it’s just a peaceful haven between northern New York and Ontario. Day 3 - Day 3 – Oct 24, 2019: Ashore in MontrealToday’s excursion explores one of Canada’s most cosmopolitan cities. In the engaging company of our local guide, we’ll experience Montreal’s rich heritage and its vibrant modern spirit as we see its many fine landmarks. We’ll drive to the top of Mount Royal for a commanding view over the city and St. Lawrence River. In the heart of Old Montreal, we’ll tour the Notre Dame Basilica. Built in the early 19th century, its grand Gothic Revival interior is graced by stained glass depictions of Montreal’s religious history. On our guided tour through the Montreal Botanical Garden, you’ll discover one of the world’s preeminent gardens with 22,000 different plant species that provide habitat for 200 unique bird species. Day 4 - Day 4 – Oct 25, 2019: Bienvenue à Québec CityWith our expert Québécois guide, this morning’s sightseeing tour begins with the Plains of Abraham. It was here that the British won a decisive 1759 battle against the French, thereby changing the fate of North America! In Place Royale, one of the oldest settlements on the Continent, our narrated walking tour reveals a fine ensemble of 17th and 18th-century buildings. Before returning to our ship for lunch, we’ll also visit Montmorency Falls and take in the panoramic views from a lookout near the Citadel.
In the afternoon, you can stroll the short distance from the pier to Lower Town in Old Québec. From here, a funicular can take you up to the historic Château Frontenac where you might explore along the Dufferin Terrace overlooking the St. Lawrence. You can also take this time to explore the charming cobblestone streets of the Petit Champlain Quarter - where stately stone buildings and centuries-old fur trading posts are now home to boutiques and cafes. Day 5 - Day 5 – Oct 26, 2019: TadoussacA thrilling day unfolds as we watch for whales! The wild waters off Tadoussac, where the Saguenay River flows into the St. Lawrence, is one of the most exciting whale-watching sites on Earth. At this time of year, blue whales and magnificent humpbacks gather here to feed in the nutrient-rich Saguenay Fjord. Meals B+L+D
Day 6 - Day 6 – Oct 27, 2019: Cruising the Gulf of St. LawrenceAs we navigate the pristine waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, shipboard experts share deeper insights into the history, stories and natural wonders of French Canada and the Maritimes. Day 7 - Day 7 – Oct 28, 2019: Charlottetown, Prince Edward IslandThis charming town of 35,000 was the site of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference where delegates from the Maritime colonies first met in a process that led to the Confederation of Canada. Explore its historic streets and then travel along the north shore to Prince Edward Island National Park, a beautiful coastal refuge. Fans of the novel
Anne of Green Gables will delight in today’s visit to the L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish National Historic Site which encompasses the landscapes and home that inspired the settings for Ms. Montgomery’s beloved tale of a red-haired orphan. Meals B+L+D
Day 8 - Day 8 – Oct 29, 2019: Cruising Off the Coast of the Canadian MaritimesEnjoy a relaxing day at sea as we cruise off the ruggedly beautiful coast of eastern Canada. Elegant dining, convivial conversation, and our Open Bar enhance the day. Meals B+L+D
Day 9 - Day 9 – Oct 30, 2019: Ashore in HalifaxAn enriching day in Nova Scotia’s capital begins with the Citadel, an impressive 19
th-century fort built by the British on a strategic hilltop setting with commanding views over the city. At the Halifax Museum of the Atlantic, you’ll delve into Nova Scotia’s rich maritime heritage and the role that Halifax Harbor played during World War II. Heading out of town, you’ll see the Fairviem Lawn Cemetery where 100 of the Titanic’s victims lie buried. Then continue along the rugged shoreline to visit Peggy’s Cove, one of the loveliest maritime villages in Nova Scotia and home to the historic and oft-photographed Peggy’s Point Lighthouse – built in 1915 along the rocky coast. After lunch in this charming fishing village, you’ll have time to explore on your own before returning to our ship in Halifax. Meals B+L+D
Day 10 - Day 10 – Oct 31, 2019: Cruising the Atlantic SeaboardDelight in this final day at sea as we navigate southward toward the New England Coast.
